S/S 24 Catwalks: Prints

Both small and large-scale prints took the spotlight at the S/S 24 fashion weeks.

The Paris, Milan, New York and London fashion weeks were the talk of the town in September and October. One of the key highlights of S/S 24 was the emergence of printed surfaces. While flowers were a common theme among various brands, there was ample room for other classic designs, such as stripes and updated polka dots. Other prints were also recurrent. We’re highlighting some of the most prevalent prints with commercial potential. Check out what they are and how to work with them!

1. Standout Florals

With a high application of florals, standout florals take the spotlight in prints. The focus is on striking and dramatic prints, appearing on black backgrounds in high saturation, shading and broad design. The rose, which exudes intensity and passion, is a recurring choice here.

2. Portuguese Tiles

Inspiration from Portuguese tiles has gained importance this season, with a focus on the classic blue and white and ornate florals. The white background and spacing between the patterns reinforce the subtlety of summer.

3. Optimistic Stripes

Adapting stripes for summer, the print gains a dynamic effect through a vibrant color palette and lines of varying thickness. Work with horizontal stripes. Black is a key color, adding a contemporary touch. Pink, yellow, blue, green, orange and red are recurrent colors.

4. Polka Dots

Growing since A/W 23/24, polka dots are once again a highlight among brands such as Balmain and Stella McCartney. Refresh the print through spaced patterns, irregular spacing or medium-scale designs. A white background softens the print for summer.
